Telengana’s State Government Looks Forward to Signing MoUs With Blockchain Firms

BTC Wires: According to the local news agency, Telangana state government is all geared up to enter into memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with some of the prominent blockchain firms to inculcate the blockchain technology in the state applications.

The above piece of information was confirmed by Telangana IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan as he clarified that the state is planning to enter into MoUs with the blockchain based firm in order to employ the technology in six or seven government applications.

The step to enter into an agreement with blockchain firms was taken with an objective to bring transparency and efficiency in the public services provided by the state. However, there was no such information revealed relating to the kind of state services in which the blockchain technology will be implemented.

Addressing an official press meet for the 1st edition of the international Blockchain Congress on July 26, Ranjan announced that the state is all set to sign the agreement during the event.

The three-day long event will take place in the capital of Telangana, Hyderabad. The event will begin on August 3, while on the final day i.e 5th of August, the event will be held in Goa. More than 3,000 people are expected to turn up for the event. As per the latest inputs, the event will have more than 80 speakers, including the officials of the regional governments and Tim Draper, one of the top-notch investors from the States.

The blockchain technology is starting to be the way out for various state and municipal government to add the missing elements of efficiency and security in their services. In recent times, the government of Catalonia has also announced its plans to introduce the blockchain technology in several fields of public administration.
