Panties.com, a site selling lingerie, has been allowing users to purchase products from them using Bitcoins for a long time now. Very recently, its founder Lila Williams said that the company is still offering that option to users, giving crypto enthusiasts a whole new reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
In a recent interview to a crypto media outlet, Williams has detailed on how difficult it has been to advertise lingerie products while dealing with immense censorship all over the internet. As their advertisements are frequently labeled as “sexual content”, these websites have a hard time getting access to prospective customers’ time or attention. By making Bitcoin payments available, this website is therefore trying to tap into the niche of crypto enthusiasts, who, like any other class of shoppers, are also prospective buyers of lingerie.
Now, in addition to that, the website is trying to take advantage of the Valentine’s Day trend by offering buyers who use Bitcoin a fifteen per cent discount along with an exciting freebie. Williams’ personal faith in Bitcoin seems to have remained quite unshaken by the bearish slump in the market. She commented:
“Yes, computers were the big disappointment of 1990, but they aren’t any more. And I believe that one day the same will be said of bitcoin.”
This statement from the lingerie site owner indicates how rapidly the whole trend of shopping using Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies is growing.
As we know, in certain parts of the world, including the United States itself, use of Bitcoins to buy groceries has become a reality. Similarly, a large number of companies do offer their customers the ability to make requisite purchases using Bitcoin as the form of payment.
Of course, like any other part of the whole consumer market, the lingerie area too has been catching up to the Bitcoin trend, and capitalising on big occasions like Valentine’s Day.
