Tulsi Gabbard Launches Her Presidential Campaign And The Crypto Industry Should Be Rejoicing

Tulsi Gabbard, serving as the United States Representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district, and a member of the Democratic Party has formally launched her campaign for the upcoming 2020 U.S. presidential elections.

This gives Crypto enthusiasts a reason to rejoice since the candidate appears to be quite pro-cryptocurrency in nature. She has declared a number of investments in cryptocurrencies alongside have publicly advocated the digital asset.

To give our readers a background on Gabbard —  she was a Democrat who gave up her position as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC back in 2016, to endorse Senator Bernie Sanders for the party’s presidential nomination. Elected back in 2012, she is the first Samoan-American member and the first Hindu member of the United States Congress.

Congressional filings from last year disckose that Gabbard bought Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) during December 2017, when the market saw that massive bull run, with investments of between $1,001-15,000.

Interesting to note here is that Gabbard’s opponent, Elizabeth Warren, who is known as someone who is not too fond of cryptocurrencies has raised around $11 million for her campaign, whereas Gabbard has only been able to raise $2 million for her campaign so far.
