Trezor, one of the best cryptocurrency wallets in the market
Trezor, one of the best cryptocurrency wallets in the market currently is all set to host Ethereum. However, according to what appears from the development team’s announcement, the support will only be available on the Beta version of this leading virtual currency wallet as of now. The Beta version of Trezor’s high quality firmware will be able to store ERC-20 tokens, and especially Ethereum and Ethereum Classic, which are two different cryptocurrencies with unique features despite ingrained similarities. The announcement was put up on the officials blog site of the company.
Trezor already used to support third party applications for crypto storing such as MyEtherWallet (Read: How to create a paper wallet using MyEtherWallet), MetaMask, MyCrypto etc. According to the announcement, the new support capability will not render any of these third party integrations ineffective by any means. All of them will continue to operate alongside the new Beta feature, allowing Trezor to host these tokens via these separate applications. Trezor has absolutely no plans of taking down the third party integration system in the coming days.
In addition to this added functionality, Trezor has also added another wallet exchange partner to its ecosystem. The new entrant is CoinSwitch and it now joins Changelly and ShapeShift in the small list of partner wallets of Trezor. As the announcement goes on to detail, the support for these additional crypto coins and tokens can be accessed by selecting the name of their preferred coin, choosing to go to that coin’s Trezor wallet, and carrying on with storage/withdrawal functions in the beta interface that will then open up.
The users can then enjoy an absolutely seamless wallet usage experience as the total Account Balance becomes visible to them in the summary section, allowing them to both send as well as receive any number of coins of these types. The seamless interface will also carry the value of stored coins in the user’s preferred fiat currency. In the explanation which is a part of the announcement, Trezor has made the process sound extremely simple. A part of it goes as follows:
“These sections function very similarly to what you are used to. Use the Receive tab to display your receiving address either in the text form or in the form of a QR code. Always remember to verify the address on your Trezor device. The Send tab allows you to set outgoing transactions and transaction fees. In the advanced settings, you can set the Gas limit, Gas price and add additional data to the transaction.”
