The famous Founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, is stirring up speculation across the Twitterverse yet again with one his recent tweets. The mysterious comment about Bitcoin is generating a lot of interest amongst the larger crypto community. At about 22:30 UTC, on October 22, 2018, Musk, who is one of the most famous personalities on Twitter, tweeted : “I love anime”.
The same thread saw him make another comment, about half an hour later, where he purportedly asked his followers if they want to buy some Bitcoin. This tweet was made with an anime image which also featured the logo of the world’s most famous cryptocurrency. The thread, unsurprisingly, went viral and became popular on the social media network, garnering as much as 3,000 retweets and about 8,000 likes from fellow Twitterati.

The image in question was initially developed by the anime character website, Cryptocurrency Girls, which has transformed famous digital currencies into anime.
Interestingly, Musk has been on many occasions impersonated by fraudsters, who have attempted to sell fake cryptocurrency giveaways to the unsuspecting individuals. No wonder, this time around too, the mention of Bitcoin got many wondering if Musk’s account had been hacked.
The tweets by Elon Musk aroused the interest of many individuals from the crypto community and some of the famous personalities on the social media network, like Zhao Changpeng, engaged with the ‘cryptic’ post. Founder of Binance, world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, tweeted jokingly, “Lol, it’s spreading. I will buy a Tesla if you accept crypto…”

Another famous person who engaged with Elon’s post was Dovey Wan, Founder at Primitive Ventures and Former Managing Director at Danhua Venture Capital. In reply to the tweet, Wan wrote light heartedly, “I’m taking Elon off from my list of most bannable Twitter accounts.”
While Musk’s tweet comes across as a light hearted banter with the crypto community, however we are excited to see if something more will come out of it!
