The new collaboration between the Telangana Government and Tech Mahindra has led to the signing of an MoU between the two which announces the launch of India’s first Blockchain District in the state. The MoU was signed at the event itself in Hyderabad on the 3rd of August. The Telangana State Information Technology, Electronics and Communication department (ITE&C) represented the state’s government and they aim to provide their full resources and regulatory and policy support to ensure that this dream is a reality and that blockchain grows in India.

This new district is scheduled to be a tech hub that will be a Centre of Excellence, Incubator and a place for development for blockchain technology, the revolution that has swept the West, but is yet to gain a strong foothold in India. This will be a safe haven for Indian Blockchain startups who would require the resources and backing of a tech friendly government like Telangana to reach their full potential.

Tech Mahindra all set to provide any technological assistance that will be required in this process. Its global customer ecosystem could also use new developers that will emerge in this district.

Mr. Gurnani said

“It is also a huge step in reskilling and right skilling the workforce of the future. Blockchain experts will be our crowning jewels as together we work towards making India the blockchain capital of the world,”
