FanDuel the sports betting company based in New York City, U.S. is a daily fantasy sports provider and bookmaker. FanDuel had organised CryptoCup, the first world cup betting based in the Ethereum Blockchain. It is a platform where you can bet on the world cup matches to win prizes.
FanDuel has come up with the newest edition of the CryptoCup, this time, partnered with DASH. Dash is Digital Cash You Can Use Anywhere. This means, this time, it is a chance to win prizes in Dash. It is an altcoin that was forked from the Bitcoin rules.
This edition will be focused on NFL game. It is the first NFL prediction game in the blockchain. Players are allowed to build their own tokens by the predictions they make. The tokens are unique and customizable as they hold players choices. The points will be earned by comparing results with real results. The players with more points will be rewarded by redeeming their prize form the smart contract.
The previous edition of CryptoCup was based on NBA playoffs. The NFL edition will run from Sept. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 6. FanDuel also had a similar NFL focused game called BitcoinBowl in Jan 2018.
The NFL edition of Crypto Cup will consist of 18 free play contests running from Sept. 9 to Dec. 30, followed by the free play final on Jan. 6. There is a strict single entry rule according to the competition’s terms and conditions. The competition is open to all U.S. and Canadian residents who are eligible to take part in free games. Users may access free plays through the FanDuel lobby once it is available.
The users have to take part in all 18 free plays in order to qualify for the Jan 2019. The one who qualifies will be emailed an entry voucher for the Final Free Play on or before Jan. 2. This time the Crypto Cup grand prize includes a 2-day, 2-night trip for winner and one guest to attend the Super Bowl in Atlanta, GA, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 3.
All the prizes would be paid out in DASH. Weeks 1-3, 5-7, 9-11, 13, and 15-17 will have a prize pot of $1,000 in DASH respectively, to be shared among five weekly winners. Week 4 and 8 will have a prize pot of $5,000 in DASH, while week 12 and 14 will have a pot of $7,000 and $10,000 worth of DASH, respectively.
A player will be contacted within 72 hours of the contest with instruction for claiming their prizes. A valid DASH public wallet address will be required along with other necessary information. The prize funds will be sent to player’s DASH wallet within 30 days of providing FanDuel.
