KFC, one of the world’s most recognisable fast food chains, is all set to start accept payments in DASH cryptocurrencies in its Venezuelan outlets from the coming week. This move by the multinational fried chicken specialist is expected to give a great boost to the crypto market, by encouraging greater adoption. While the company plans to effect this move gradually, first in the Chacao municipality of Venezuelan capital Caracas and then elsewhere to the other 24 outlets, this move holds great potential to make crypto use trickle down to the laymen.
The plans for the said integration have been underway for the last three months as Alejandro Echeverría of DASH worked tirelessly with KFC officials to make this proposal a reality.
Echeverría has earlier co-founded DASH Merchant Venezuela, DASH Help and DASH Text and as his track record reveals, is clearly an extremely dedicated member of the DASH community focused on boosting the cryptocurrency’s adoption. Upon securing the integration, he commented:
“Having a globally recognized brand such as KFC accepting Dash payments in Venezuela is a great achievement for cryptocurrency and further validation of the continuing trend of Dash adoption not only from a user perspective, but now merchants as well.”
In our guide to DASH earlier, we had detailed on what makes it a great privacy cryptocurrency. Clearly, the pros of DASH are catching on, and KFC is only one of the later joiners in the long list of MNCs and domestic store chains that have warmed up to DASH. Fresh sandwiches chain Subway, Venezuelan departmental store Traki and pizza giant Papa John’s Pizza are all examples of companies that accept DASH payments from their customers.
As Venezuela struggles with devaluation of their national currency, the Venezuelan Bolivar, cryptocurrencies come to the rescue of the stumbling economy. Among them, DASH has managed to carve out a top spot for itself, growing from associating with family businesses and small and medium scale food truck enterprises, to nationwide or multinational chains. The crypto coin has been doing much of late to drive adoption and we recently even saw DASH partner with payments gateway ePaymints for the same. Clearly, its attempts are bearing fruits.
