Now, all citizens of Argentina will be able to recharge

Now, all citizens of Argentina will be able to recharge their official transport card using pioneering cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC). The transport card that the Argentinian state issues to its citizens is called the SUBE. SUBE stands for the phrase “Sistema Único de Boleto Electrónico”.
Funds can be recharged to the SUBE cards with some held from a company called Bitex, that uses blockchain technology to make sure financial services can be delivered to users. Besides Bitex, users will also have to fall back upon native platform Alto Viaje to facilitate all these payments. The website of Alto Viaje may be used by the citizens to recharge their SUBE card using Bitcoins.
Manuel Beaudroit, who serves as the chief marketing officer of the Bitex platform, a whopping number of 7 million can accurately describe the wide user base of the SUBE card. All these users are spread all over 37 places within the country. To make travel a matter of simplicity and convenience, the SUBE Card can be used to purchase travel tickets on public buses, trains or even in the subway.
Beaudroit commented:
“We believe that this type of project is of great importance since it brings technology as disruptive as bitcoin to the common people, demonstrating the true value and the applications it has in everyday life.”
The CMO has clarified that each recharge through the platform will require a recharge in Bitcoins that are at least worth 50 pesos.
“From Alto Viaje we want to offer safe and innovative services, the alliance with Bitex allows us to integrate the payment with bitcoins and new possibilities of financial inclusion for people and companies.”
stated Luciano Verardo, Director of Alto Viaje.
This new move is set to significantly improve how Argentinians experience ease of travel within the country’s public transportation system.
