American telecom Giant, AT&T join hands with IBM and Microsoft to offer Blockchain Solution

The blockchain technology and its worldwide adoption have opened numerous options for other sectors as well to advance in a new direction using the transparency and security that the technology offers with transactions. The complex processes help in better management and security of the transaction. The American telecom leader which is also the world’s largest Telecommunications company,  American Telephone & Telegraph Company [AT&T]  has also embraced the blockchain technology as it recently announced its newly designed suite of blockchain solution.

The newly formed suite of blockchain solution is designed with the technology solution from IBM as it will work with the IBM blockchain platform for data recording and Microsoft’s Azure’s blockchain technology. The company stated that these solutions can be used across many verticals, including manufacturing, retail, and healthcare industries.

AT&T’s announcement further stated:

“Enterprise customers can use these solutions as they automate and digitalize their business processes using blockchain technologies. Customers will have better resources to track and manage information across multiple parties.”

With this new project, the company is aiming to help customers resolve complex business issues. The need for simple business solutions with reduced risks and cost has led them to come up with these solutions. The use of blockchain technology has helped to create a highly secured, and shared ecosystem for parties to exchange information. AT&T stated that it will be integrating its edge-edge capabilities with the blockchain technology. With AT&T’s Internet of Things [IoT], the solutions will prove to be an additional advantage to automation and critical monitoring capabilities.

The Vice President of Alliances Business Development, AT&T Business, Andy Daudelin said:

“Blockchain is far more than just Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. It’s transforming the way many companies conduct business. Blockchain improves security and enables better management of transactions through complex processes.”

With the blockchain from Microsoft Azure’s and IBM, the team is capable to design, deploy and manage. The solution can be used to record data on the IBM blockchain. The company also plans to combine AT&T Asset Management Operations Center with IBM Maximo Network on the blockchain and Maximo Asset Health Insights, this will create a secure and accountable service provider network for infrastructure asset management.

With its IoT platform combined with Microsoft’s blockchain technology, the company will be able to add more transparency and accountability in the complex supply chain industry. The AT&T’s solutions have been deployed in the market from 26th September 2018.
